CCIQ and the Cairns Chamber of Commerce Team Up to Provide HR Support for Regional Business
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ), Cairns Chamber of Commerce and Human Resource Dynamics have announced a partnership to assist businesses in the Cairns area with their human resource and industrial relations needs.
In collaboration with the Cairns Chamber of Commerce a Cairns business can now have joint membership with CCIQ, the Cairns Chamber plus the added bonus of having HR Dynamics as an onsite consultant where required. CCIQ notes that smaller businesses do not have the resources of major companies and the level of complexity involved with the human resources function requires expertise many organisations simply do not have.
Manager of HR Services at CCIQ, Jason Wales says the alliance with Human Resource Dynamics will enhance an already established relationship whilst ensuring regional businesses can confidently assess hiring and workforce decisions.
“We are seeing an increase in businesses calling our Employer Advice Line trying to navigate the complexities of the employer-employee relationship.
“The joint-venture with Human Resource Dynamics will allow CCIQ to provide on-site support to those businesses in Far North Queensland,” Mr Wales said.
Industrial relations remains a key challenge for businesses as many contend with differing pay scales, confusion about how to engage employees and ensuring workplaces are compliant with the most recent legislation.
“We have seen an increase in the number of wage audits, bullying complaints and workplace grievances over the past couple of years. It is important that employers follow the right process when managing these issues,” Mr Wales said.
CCIQ through the Cairns Chamber of Commerce and HR Dynamics will be launching a series of events connecting businesses in Far North Queensland in the new year. The Cairns Chamber through its ongoing affiliation with CCIQ is providing its members with the tools and resources to best manage their workforce and compliance.
Cairns Chamber of Commerce CEO, Debbie-Anne said such collaborations ensure that businesses in Queensland remain at the forefront of a modern economy.
“Having the opportunity for a local HR consultant to visit on-site for assistance will prove to be a huge benefit for our members,” Ms Bender said.
