ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Cairns Chamber of Commerce and Cairns Young Chamber are calling for Expressions of Interest for the 2022 Emerging Leaders Program, Far North Queensland’s premium leadership program for 35-year old’s and under.
The Emerging Leader Program is designed to develop globally relevant and locally connected leaders in a manner that supports the future economic, cultural, and environmental prosperity of Far North Queensland.
The program includes a series of workshops, keynote presentations and site famils aimed at building leadership skills, soft skills, and industry knowledge. A mentoring program runs simultaneously, with each participant paired with a business and industry leader from the region for the duration of the Program. Participants are also provided with opportunities to grow their network and meet some of the region's key business and industry leaders. There are four components and four outcomes to the ELP:

The topics that will be explored in the 2022 program include:
- Machinery of Government & Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Commercial Acumen & Conflict Management and Resolution
- Defence and Marine Industry & The Future of Export
- Health and Our Economy & Social Entrepreneurship
- Tourism & Reef and the Rainforest
KEY PROGRAM DATES
Eligibility: 35 Years and Under
Program Cost: $1200 + GST
Applications Open: Monday 14 February 2022
Applications Close: COB Friday 11 March 2022
Applicants Notified of Outcome: On or before COB Friday 25 March 2022
Key Program Dates: All successful applicants will be required to participate in a welcome session in April 2022; full day sessions on 27 April 2022, 15 June 2022, 17 August 2022, 12 October 2022, 15 Feb 2023; and a graduation evening in April 2023.
HOW TO APPLY
To be considered for the 2022 intake of the Emerging Leaders, you will be required to provide the following, via email to by close of business 11 March 2022:
STEP 1: Expression of interest, outlining your response to the following criteria:
(a) How will participation in the Emerging Leaders Program support you to achieve your career goals?
(b) How do you provide leadership within your local community, and how do you see the Emerging Leaders Program will help you grow as a leader to support our region?
(c) If successful in applying for the 2022 intake of the Emerging Leaders Program, you will be required to attend a welcome event, five mandatory full day sessions and a graduation event. The full day sessions will be held on:

- 15 June 2022
- 17 August 2022
- 12 October 2022
- 15 February 2023
