October Business Luncheon - Uncovering Skills and Opportunity Gaps

Access to an available workforce (both skilled and unskilled) is the key to maintaining and growing our local economy. With borders closed, our region has felt significant labour shortages now more than ever.

The Cairns Chamber of Commerce has been selected by the Queensland Government to partner with the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, establishing the Cairns Regional Jobs Committee (RJC). The committee will include individuals across a wide range of industries and demographics, including local industry groups, training providers, local and major employers, and councils to identify key areas of employment growth and local training, skills and workforce development needs.
