Luncheon: July Economic Forecast Luncheon

The domestic economy continues to adapt to the changes wrought by the pandemic. While inflation may have peaked, the path for the RBA setting interest rates so as to contain price pressures without crashing the economy remains a narrow one. We are seeing international tourism begin to recover and domestic travel is still strong. The labour market continues to be strong and wages are rising. 

Here in Cairns, challenges still exist given our right rental market and the slower pace of the international tourism recovery, but both State and Federal budgets have seen encouraging injections of funds into key projects.
