Addressing Worker Shortages: Migration, Visa and FNQ DAMA Information Session on Thursday Island

All employers and business owners are invited to attend an information session on options for addressing skills shortages in key roles, where they have not been able to be filled from the Australian or local labour market. This session is a joint initiative of the Department of Home Affairs and the Cairns Chamber of Commerce.

Yvette Adams, the Department’s Business, Industry and Regional Outreach Officer for Queensland will discuss the Migration Strategy Reforms, Temporary (including Working Holiday Maker Visas), Permanent and Employer Visa Options and Labour Agreements.

Patricia O’Neill and Geoff Heath from the Cairns Chamber of Commerce will de-mystify the FNQ DAMA (Far North Queensland Designated Area Migration Agreement) and how it is able to assist employers to fill critical skill shortages in the Far North region.
