DESCRIPTION:2-Day Course – Wednesday 7th October and Thursday 8th October \n\n\n\n8:00 am – 3:00 pm both days \n\n\n\nEvent DescriptionA mentally healthy and supportive workplace is the key to driving employee well-being\, productivity and\, ultimately\, business resilience and success. Natural disasters and severe weather events in particular can have a profound psychological impact on business owners\, staff and customers. \n\n\n\nMental Health First Aid is a practical\, skills-based education program that equips adults in the workplace with the skills and confidence needed to recognise and respond to a co-worker or another adult experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis\, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. \n\n\n\nThis two-day face-to-face course provides high-quality\, safe and accredited mental health first aid literacy and skills training to strengthen the support available to all Australians. \n\n\n\nMentally healthy workplaces are good for business \n\n\n\nEvery year\, 1 in 5 Australians will experience a common mental illness. That means that every day\, millions of Australians go to work while experiencing a mental health problem – and the impact of this can be enormous\, affecting workplace productivity\, performance and employee well-being.  \n\n\n\nGiven that the average Australian worker will spend close to one third of their lives at work\, the workplace is an ideal place for early intervention and supports for those experiencing or living with mental illness.   \n\n\n\nWorkplaces now have a duty under WHS regulations to eliminate or minimise psychosocial risks in the workplace\, and MHFA is one of the most common\, practical ways businesses can demonstrate they’re meeting that duty. \n\n\n\nSpots are limited to 1 person per small business only\, so book now to avoid missing out! \n\n\n\nMeet Your TrainerTobi Schnell is the owner of The Mindset Academy\, an organisation dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
