Riley, A Crystalbrook Collection Resort
A growing population means without action, we face the real possibility of a drinking water shortfall by 2026.
Without access to a new water supply our economy won’t be able to grow and prosper, putting future jobs at risk, and there will be lasting damage to our reputation as a desirable tourism destination.
Cairns Regional Council have a plan, and it doesn’t involve building a new dam. The Cairns Water Security – Stage 1 project. Construction of the $215 million project needs to start soon so it will be ready in time for the predicted shortfall.
Hear directly from Cairns Regional Council Mayor Manning and Nick Masasso about the planning behind it, why it’s so critical to our region’s future and the support needed from both the Federal and State Governments to help deliver it.
