Cairns Chamber of Commerce
The Cairns Chamber of Commerce is hosting information sessions about the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) for regional business.
The five-year Far North Queensland DAMA, approved by the government in April 2019, was launched in mid-September 2019 and the Cairns Chamber (as the approved representative) is now accepting requests for endorsement from businesses under the agreement.
While the main objective is to employ local workers, the FNQ DAMA provides a tailored solution to businesses in the region to fill skills gaps that can’t be filled by local workers. The FNQ DAMA will assist a range of industries including tourism, hospitality, agriculture, shipping and health and help to drive economic growth.
The Cairns Chamber aims to support local businesses and their agents to clearly understand expectations and ensure a level playing field for those wanting to access the 200 places available under the DAMA in the first year. These information sessions are a great opportunity to hear directly from the Cairns Chamber about how the DAMA can assist your business to meet its employment needs.
Sorry, registrations for this event closed on 17 Feb 2020.
