Graduating from James Cook University with an honours degree in Medicine, Satty is now enjoying working as a Doctor at Cairns Hospital. Getting involved in numerous youth leadership and advocacy roles have shaped Satyen’s belief that the youth are the future leaders and their considered voice should be heard.
Satyen was formerly the President of the James Cook University Medical Students’ Association (JCUMSA), Executive Director of the Australian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) and Convenor of the 2016 AMSA National Convention. He is a scholarship winner of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Not-For-Profit Governance essentials course and currently also serves as the Treasurer for the Cairns Resident Medical Officers Society (CRMOS). The aspect that Satyen looks forward to most in working with the CYC is to create positive outcomes for CYC members and the Cairns region through connecting, empowering and representing the youth.
Outside of the hospital, you’ll find him taking advantage of the gorgeous Cairns weather, the beaches, the creeks, the reef and the rainforest – most likely with plenty of good food, good drinks and great friends!
