Matt is a Cairns local who completed his schooling at St Augustine’s College. After a few years hiatus, Matt commenced studying at James Cook University in Cairns and graduated with a Bachelor of Planning (Hons) 2010. The GFC necessitated a change of scenery after graduation and Matt spent time in Mackay and Airlie Beach working in both Local Government and private practise. Matt returned to Cairns in 2016 to take up a Senior Planner role with Urban Sync where he assists clients in a wide range of development projects.
Outside of work, Matt plays Baseball for the Cairns Reds A Grade team, enjoys running and fishing and spends too much time watching anything that you can keep a score to.
Matt sees the emerging Leaders Program as an opportunity to gain the necessary skills and tools, personally and professionally, to take his professional career to the next level, and an excellent opportunity to meet regularly with other young professionals.
