Kayla is an Accountant in the Business Services, Tax and Advisory team at BDO (Nth Qld) and is planning on finishing her Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand study in November 2018.
Kayla studied a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at James Cook University in Townsville and moved to Cairns in 2016. Growing up in Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands made the decision to start her career in Cairns an easy one. In her spare time she loves any activity involving water, whether it be water-skiing, fishing and boating, or immersing herself in the beautiful waterways of the tropics.
Through Kayla’s schooling and study she worked on her families’ banana farm in Tully, gaining an appreciation of hard work, and a strong work ethic. She is enthusiastic to learn how the region’s economy, politics and infrastructure play a role in local farming and agriculture through the Emerging Leaders workshops.
Kayla is also excited to be partnered with a mentor from the Cairns Community and looks forward to what the Emerging Leaders program has to offer in soft skills training.
