Resource & Industrial Taskforce PDF Print E-mail

VISION
The Resource & Industrial Taskforce (R&IT) was formed in 2006 with the vision of raising the profile of Cairns as a hub to service for the mining and resource sector. Our activities have been very well received by industry and each year, new initiatives are added to our program. Our main annual event is the Mine Managers Familiarisation, at which we host managers of mining operations already focussed or with the potential to focus on Cairns as a supply hub for their operations. In 2008 we hosted the first of future planned Purchasing Officer Familiarisations.  Similar concept to the Mine Managers Famil, but on a smaller scale and targetted at the Purchasing Officer level.

The R&IT provides opportunities at a number of levels for members of the Cairns Chamber. Companies already established in the mining industry will be offered opportunities to be involved in hosting events and there will be opportunities for companies wishing to break in to the sector to get information from the databases and contacts established by the Cairns Chamber.

HOW WE CAN WORK WITH YOU
One of the goals of the Cairns Chamber is to act as a conduit for information for mining and resource companies wishing to source goods and services from the Cairns region. It would be beneficial for both the Cairns Chamber and your business if you could forward us a short description of goods and services your company is already supplying to or wishes to supply to the mining and resource sector. That way, if specific enquiries are fielded, we are able to refer potential clients your business. Email your details to
