Cairns Chamber Position Papers
The primary role for the existence of a Chamber of Commerce is to lobby on behalf of its members. The Cairns Chamber of Commerce has, since its inception 100 years ago, maintained a strong lobby role. This extends to Local, State and Federal Government and issues on a local and regional level.

Our advocacy role is undertaken both as an individual organisation and as a part of a collective. For example, the Cairns and Townsville Chambers have jointly lobbied for upgrades to the Bruce Highway between Townsville and Cairns. Each of the Cairns Chamber's position paper outlines the issue at hand, the work we have undertaken in recent times and the steps needed to address the issue.
